The Tulletts

The Tulletts joined the Wheatland family tree when the widowed Olive Tullett married my 3rd great-grandfather William Wheatland. The surname origin is unclear. Some suggest it was derived from an old French word for a plate of armour, others from the name Matilda. It was spelled in many ways in the records, including Tullet, Tulett, Toolet, Tolet, Toolit and so on.
